The main I learnt from this research was that the concept of documentaries has evolved, not just with the introduction of convergent technology but also with audiences' needs.  As of late, documentaries are becoming more inspiring and thought provoking, such as The Blue Planet.  This is the kind of direction I think at this point I'd like to take with my own production.
